Welcome your Chapter Incoming Governor, Dr. Danny Steinberg

Daniel H Steinberg (Danny) MD, has been elected to the position of Governor Elect for the South Carolina Chapter.

He is a Professor of Medicine and Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.  Originally from New Jersey, he ultimately moved to Charleston in 2008 after completing fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.  He is board certified in both Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology, and he has been FACC since 2009.   Danny’s primary clinical efforts have centered around Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease with particular emphasis on coronary artery disease, transcatheter valve therapies and mechanical cardiac support.  He currently is the Director of Interventional Cardiology and the Edna M Sutton Chair in Structural Heart Disease at MUSC. 

Within the American College of Cardiology, he has served as Program Director for the Joint North/South Carolina ACC meetings since 2015 during the years these meetings have been held in South Carolina. He has also served as a Councilor to the South Carolina ACC Chapter since 2015. 

Danny’s primary interests outside of work include the culinary arts, sailing and travel in pursuit of both.

He will serve as Chapter Governor Elect from March 2023-2024 and become Chapter Governor March 2024.
