Election to membership in the ACC is based on training, specialty board certification, scientific and professional accomplishments and duration of active participation in a cardiovascular related field. Members are expected to conform to high moral standards. At least 75% of a potential members' professional activities must be devoted to the field of cardiovascular disease. Chapters provide ACC members with the opportunity to discuss local and regional concerns and participate at a leadership level in the resolution of issues that directly affect them. Participation in local chapters is the ladder to future participation and leadership opportunities at the national level. To become a chapter member, membership in ACC is required.
All members of the American College of Cardiology residing or working in South Carolina shall be eligible for membership in the Chapter. Please indicate on your dues statement that you receive from the College that $95 ($20 for CCAs) of your payment is to be attributed to Chapter dues. Your name will automatically be added to the roster of the South Carolina Chapter. The Chapter has four classes of membership:

Emeritus Members
Cardiac Care Associate Members
